Christmas Letter 2012

San FranGreetings friends and family!

Boy has it been a year for us. We hope that this note finds you well and encouraged for the new year ahead of us. I don’t have a lot of space on this years mailing, so I’ll keep it brief.

We started off our year in search of two things, a church to go to and a new job for me. Now I didn’t loose my job or anything, but I was looking for a job that had benefits and was more stable.

In February, we found ourselves a new church home with Venture Church, a relatively new church plant. We quickly were involved and now couldn’t image living life without our Venture family. A couple of months later, a new job opportunity was presented in the form of IT technician for a local engineering firm.

Now as you most likely know, we are kind of an active bunch. Jess ran two marathons, one in Nashville (we went to visit my brother and his family) and the other in San Francisco (also to visit friends) while I affirmed my commitment to never run one again. I did however ride my bike from Seattle to Portland with a good friend and both Jess and I took part in a 180 mile relay through the Tetons.

For the year ahead, we already have a fairly busy road laid out. Amongst running (Jess wants to run an ultra-marathon) and cycling events we are going to be setting out in one of our biggest adventures yet, Nepal. We will be raising support for and traveling to Nepal with our church. Jess will most likely be working with orphans and women rescued out of human trafficking while I will be hiking throughout the Himalayan countryside delivering supplies and the Gospel to those that have never heard the good news. After that, who knows what, maybe making babies.

Love,

The Montana Powells
