Pure Bedlam!

So, its been a while since I’ve been on here to write to you all, and while I could go back into why I suck at blogging, I will refrain from such an endeavor. Busy! That has been the story of Jess and I for the last couple months. Our weeks have been so chock-o-block full of activities that I just remembered that I need to take a breath. I think that the last time that I updated everyone was mid May after graduation, with our trip to Boise (representing Sacred Portion and Rehoboth). That was a while ago! Now Jess has done a great job in filling you in, and I’ve been rather silent. Hopefully I can fill you in on a couple things from my vantage point.

We celebrated our third wedding anniversary on May 17th. It is great to look back and see just how far we have come in thrice years. It both seems like yesterday and forever ago at the same time. I am so blessed to have Jess in my life and look forward to growing old with her!

Jess and I photographed our first wedding together (Congrats to Noah and Luci!) in May. We had a wonderful time and it was a great opportunity for the both of us to flex some creative muscle. We rented a pair of flashes from Bozeman Camera (Best Camera Shop Ever!) and quickly fell in love with them. There may be a future paycheck that goes into buying a pair.

Next up was a quick trip out to Oregon for my friend Brian’s wedding. Fortunately I had the company of two good friends for the travels as Jess needed to work. The wedding was in Dufur, my home town. For how brief the trip was, it felt great to get out of town for a weekend and have some quality time with friends. Beside the wedding, we also ventured down the Columbia River Gorge scenic highway and took in the sights.

We helped out with the Sacred Portion Children’s Outreach Hope Walk event. Both Jess and I were crossing guards for the walk. The purpose of this event is to raise the necessary funds to bring the various children over to the US for a month out of the summer. I was a great privilege to help out!

Jess and I have also been keeping busy with our church. I’ve been leading music about twice a month and both Jess and I have been helping out with the youth group. It has been fun getting to know the youth in the group. We had a couple activities the last couple months, including our very first outreach. We basically held a concert out on the pond behind the church! It was a blast and we’re looking forward to doing it again.

Jess and I were able to get out camping one weekend so far. We went up to the local favorite, Hyalite Reservoir, and camped for the weekend. It was great to get away and relax. Well I think that is about all I’m going to write about at this point in time, but hopefully next time I won’t have quite so much to catch up on! Enjoy the pictures of the last couple months!
