A Foggy Morning Drive

While in Oregon last month, I shuttled a car from Portland to The Dalles for my uncle. I decided while I had the time, I would take the scenic route. The Columbia River Gorge, specifically the stretch between Portland and The Dalles is a beautiful treasure trove of waterfalls and vistas along a historic highway. I first visited the Vista House interpretive center (closed for the season) and encountered a great view, so I parked the car and got out, turned back to grab my camera and… the fog had rolled in. Vista be gone. So I took a few shots in the fog. Of course, once I got back in the car, the fog started to clear and I was able to take some fun pics.

Along the rest of the route, I spent most of my time at Latourell Falls. Mostly because no one was there, but also because I have fond memories of visiting the landmark with a friend who decided to run out in the waterfall, but slipped and fell on a rock not even 10 feet from the trail’s edge. Good times! I also visited Multnomah Falls, but the mist was so bad, I couldn’t get a good shot. I hope you enjoy the pictures!
