We rang in the New Year with some of our closest friends. It was fantastic! Then Brent and I had a fabulous New Year’s Day! (I know I am really late posting about this.) After a lovely New Year’s Day run, we took the dog, grabbed the snowshoes and headed up to the mountains. It ended up being a gorgeous day. Unfortunately, Brent’s camera battery died when we pulled it out. Good thing we have our iPhones that take decent photos to help us out. Flynn loved running through the snow and even found himself in a pile of snow that came up to his back. That was fun to watch him trudge through. It was nice to have a worn out dog by the end of the day.
Now what has the new year looked like so far? It has been busy of course! Like usual, we think that we are going to have down time to recoup. We found ourselves packed full of evenings with friends, Brent doing some overtime work at home, my marathon training started and all of the extra stuff we find ourselves doing for Venture. This week we have finally had a chance to catch up on life and go grocery shopping! We have grabbed milk, bread, eggs and the essentials occasionally, but we haven’t made a list and gone shopping since before Thanksgiving. It is so nice to have fridge full of food! I am not sure life will calm down, but for now we are rolling with it. We are even having a date night this week! It is funny how we don’t have kids and it is still hard to get a date night scheduled.
We do need to learn to say no sometimes. Maybe one day we will figure that out.
