A Visit from Afar

The other week, Brent and I had heard from a little birdie that our friend Fe and her husband Ken were in town from the Philippines. I sent out a message to her not knowing if she would have time for dinner or even a quick visit. We lucked out! Last week we were able to go out to dinner with them and catch up on how things were going in the Philippines and at Rehoboth. It was great to get to know Ken more and just have a wonderful conversations. The other great thing about dinner was that it was snowing outside. It was our first snow of the fall/winter and it was Fe’s first time seeing snow. She was freezing, but we ordered soup and warmed her up. They also found the warmest spot in the restaurant to sit. I just can’t explain how great it was to see them. I love that we still have these connections with the Philippines and those memories that we had back there. It is a great reminder of all that happened and how it changed us. We were so blessed to have been able to go on that trip. I can’t wait to go again. When, I don’t know, but I know we will go back.

We all said our goodbyes outside standing in the snow. We snapped a few pictures as Fe was freezing and ready to be done with being outside. I loved seeing them and how happy they are together. It was a great evening!
