Feels Like Home

Everybody around the Gorge is talking about all this snow that is still on the ground. By talking, I really mean complaining. Yes, I am stuck at my parents without a car. Yes, it is too icy to take Elijah out in the stroller with the hills. Yes, I am getting a little cabin fever at times. With all that said, I feel like I am back in Montana. We have had several days of cold temperatures although none have gone below zero. We have had countless snow storms that have dumped inches upon inches at a time. I was looking forward to a milder winter, but to look at house and feel like I am back in Montana even for a moment has been nice.

I have still been running and my cold weather running gear has come in more handy than I thought it would. Last year my sister picked up some nano spikes on sale for me and I am very thankful for them. I wish I had used them back in Montana. My winter runs would have been happier ones if I had them. Today the sun decided to shine and warm things up a little. This is good after getting all of that sleet and freezing rain on top of the snow. I enjoyed my short 3 miler around the hills in the sun. Ah, how good it felt. Running has been my only escape from being stuck at the house. I sure do love it more than ever right now.

I hope to start blogging about my running experiences like I used to do. Marathon training will start in about a month. We will see how that goes. I haven’t even been blogging about my races. Oh the things I used to do before the kiddo came along.
