Brent and I tried out a church for the second time yesterday. The pastors sermon couldn’t have been better for Brent and I after the week we just had. As we are constantly thinking of those that we left and dealing with those feelings. We are also dealing with the delays of our house closing and just what everything looks like for us financially. We knew that we’d get out of debt with this move and the sale of our house. We are both very excited about that. We also knew that this move wouldn’t make us rich. It would allow us to be closer to family and Brent would have a much better work environment.
As we’ve been thinking about our options, we have been all over the map looking at different locations. Where are we suppose to end up? What is God’s plan for us? With both of us being frustrated and upset this last week, we were reminded at church yesterday to praise and thank God. This week most people will sit down on Thursday and tell everyone what they are thankful for. Some only do this on this specific day of Thanksgiving. Others will only give God thanks in the good times when they can see all that God had given them. What about the hard times? What about the times when we are unsure? That is when we need to praise and thank God the most. We need to show Him that it just isn’t when we like where we are that we can give Him glory. Though Brent and I are struggling more than we thought we would, God does this for a reason and we need to keep on praising Him and thanking Him. We need to thank Him for these trials as they grow us closer to Him.
Take some time to thank God even when you are struggling. Don’t wait for the good times and please don’t wait for Thanksgiving day. Do it everyday.
