This past weekend we headed south to go visit Brent’s brother in Eugene. From the little bit we were able to explore, it was a beautiful city. The one thing that I could really tell that my brother-in-law really enjoyed about it was the proximity to the trails. Eugene is a running hub for any type you can imagine. From it being Track Town USA to the birth place of Nike, you can do your running thing in Eugene. We explored one trail just a couple miles from his house. It had an amazing view. This trail wasn’t even the closest one. Let’s just say that if you thought the trails were close in Bozeman, you were wrong. The trails in Eugene are spread throughout the town. Maybe the elevation isn’t as high, but they are decent enough climbs to get your hills in. We spent Saturday night in front of the computer watching running video after running video. Which was making me want to go hit the trail.
The question is where and when? I can’t go run with Elijah on a trail. Trails don’t tend to be stroller friendly. If anyone knows of anything in the area, let me know. All I want to do is go run on a trail! I guess Elijah and I will settle for the road. I think today I will explore a new route with the stroller. Hopefully it isn’t too steep. That isn’t fun with a stroller and going downhill.
