Well, we had intentions of sending out a Christmas email to everyone, then that turned into a New Year email and now it’s a belated Happy New Year from the Powell’s blog post. Usually I go into depth about the adventures of the past year, and there were definitely some of those. We ran, of course that means Jess ran a marathon, and I nearly killed others running the Ultra version of the Grand Teton Relay. But there was one major story that occupied our 2015, that being Elijah Griffin Powell. I won’t go into the details of the events surrounding his birth, but you can find them here. He’s doing great and we will continue to post (probably too many) pictures of our adorable little man.
We also took many pictures in 2015, but you can catch up on those here. The images included a few weddings and other events that we were honored to be a part of. We even set up a temporary photo studio with our small group at Venture to take free family photos for the community. Many of the photos were taken for thirtyfivemedia, my little media company that is slowly building.
Both Jess and I are still employed with the same companies, though Jess is now part time. We are grateful for the friends and family that have been with us through this year. The meals, dog-watching, house sitting and countless other favors people freely offered our way were and still are appreciated! We have said goodbyes to some good friends and have been introduced to new ones.
It’s always surprising to see the change a year brings, somehow we never seem to be able to fully anticipate time’s effect our lives. Some years pass by like a paragraph added to a much larger chapter, while others, like this past year, are full bodied chapters in it of themselves and I can’t help but feel like this year, 2016, will be a chapter all its own.
And now, I leave you with not just one, but four family photos we had taken in just the past month (this somehow makes up for the belated post, right? Right?).
