What do you do with all those medals and race bibs from over the years? I have been wanting to create something to display my race bling for the past couple of years, but I had decided on anything. My sister knew that I wanted to do something, so she went and bought me some wooden letters that spelled RUN. Ok. Now is the time to do something before we have the kid in the fall. (Our list is ever growing of what we want to accomplish). Thursday night I was getting kind of bored, but didn’t feel like being lazy. I decided to head to the garage and find a piece of wood that I could put the letters on. I found the perfect size. This piece of wood allowed me to put the letters on a left room to add a spot for my PRs. I was excited to start the project and couldn’t wait. I grabbed the sander and went to town preparing the wood to be painted. I then found our leftover chalk paint and painted a coat on the wood. Unfortunately, I start the project too late in the evening, so a second coat wasn’t going to happen. I then found some bright colors for the letters and painted those. My work was halted for the evening. In the morning, I painted a second coat on the board and then spray painted the letters with poly. I picked up some hooks and a clipboard to finish out the project from Ace. On Saturday morning, I headed back to the garage and made the final touches. I ran some errands after it was all complete and came home to find that Brent had hung it up on the wall for me. I love how my little project turned out and that we put something up on our wall! We really need to start decorating. Another project that is on the list before the kiddo arrives. I was able to check one off the list.
