So… A while back, Jess and I had the opportunity to go out snowshoeing with some friends up the Hyalite creek trail. It’s a beautiful trail with numerous waterfalls, and is a treat to see when frozen over. As we scrambled out the door, I managed to forget one thing, GLOVES! That morning happened to greet us with single digit temperatures (I guess negative ones if you are a Celsius minded person). So to my, and Jess’s, disappointment, we didn’t have our winter gloves. Fortunately we did have our running gloves so we did have some protection, although not much. The hike felt a little longer than usual that morning, mostly due to the gnawing feeling that my discomforted hands were feeling. As we arrived at the first waterfall, which is named Grotto, we pulled out our cameras and explored a bit. By this time my hands had finally warmed up, and I was feeling far more chipper.
After a while of enjoying the scenery, we headed back up the trail to view a few more waterfalls. A photographers note: Digital cameras don’t especially like the cold, and they usually must be stowed away for the hike, thus making them rather annoying to procure. This being said, the camera didn’t come back out for any more of the trip as I was too lazy and once again too cold to desire it’s presence. I hope that you enjoy the pictures of Grotto falls!
