What to do on a Sunday afternoon? A hike of course and we better make sure that it is a new one! That is just what we did this last Sunday afternoon. We got ready and drove over to Paradise Valley to enjoy a nice easy 5 mile hike in the Absarokee Mountain Range. We decided to swing by the local Pop Stand (old family diner) for a pre-hike milkshake. Normally when we do hikes in this area, we swing by for a milkshake afterwards. We decided to have one and then burn it off with the hike! As we neared the hiking destination it started to pour rain. We continued to drive up trying to decide whether or not to hike. We were concerned about our cameras. Half of the fun for going on hikes for us is the photography. We couldn’t leave them behind! We found an old rain jacket in the back of the Subaru. We wrapped up the cameras and placed them in Brent’s pack. The rain was on and off for most of the hike to the falls. It was still warm out and the rain felt great! We made it to the falls and decided that the hike was totally worth it in the rain. It was a nice easy hike until the very end were it got a bit steep, but not for too long. The falls were amazing! The rain eventually went away on the way back. We were able to enjoy taking pictures! The area was so dense with green foliage and burnt trees. It was a beauty all its own. Something that we don’t see around Bozeman right now as it has been one of the worst droughts we have had in years. It was nice to see that parts of Montana were still green! Enjoy the photos!
