Pumpkin Carving Party

Jess thought it would be a great idea to invite some friends over last Saturday for some pumpkin carving fun. Jess made a great spread of food to snack on; cardamom bread, pumpkin butter, wasail, a cheese ball and my personal favorite, a pumpkin roll. There were 10 of us in all. We all started carving right away and we all had our own approach. Some people didn’t buy a pumpkin till moments before and had to do with some interestingly shaped cucurbita. Some utilized patterns, while others went freehand. When we finished, everyone was happy with their respective masterpiece. After cleaning up our mess, we settled in for a game of Taboo and Apples to Apples. The hour came in which people headed for home, and it was once again just Jess and I, happy to have had such a great time with friends.
