Nike+ Women’s Half Marathon

A while back, I “liked” the Nike Women’s Marathon facebook page to find out information on my sister-in-law while she was running the marathon. I am so glad that I did because I found out about this awesome event. Nike is putting on a Nike+ Women’s Half Marathon on January 14th or 15th, 2012. This is an event where you use your Nike+ gear. You pick your own route and run at least 13.1 miles and then simply upload it to your Nike+ account. You get one week to upload your workout and then they will send you a participant bracelet. You can run it anytime during the day and take as long as you want. Why would I pay to run by myself without the race support of water and food? It is to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. What a good reason to turn my marathon training run into a benefit run. If you are interested in running, check out all the information here. I am excited to partake in this international wide event from my own city and to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Now all I have to do is hope that the weather corporates or it might just be a very interesting event for me. Bring It On!
