Here is not there

As a worship leader you would think that I have the whole worshiping God part down pat. But alas, I do not. When I travelled to the Philippines and experienced God in a truly real way, I thought that it would be somewhat easier to bring back the on-fire passion to the states. Last night we had practice for music for Sunday’s service. We had a nice chat about my recent adventures and the experiences that were had. As I described the experience of worship in the local Filippino church, I found myself without the proper words to describe the experience. I wish I could convey the awesome power of the experience. I don’t want it to be one of those “You had to be there” blanket statements. Yeah, going on a trip with the motive being to serve God in whatever way helps put you in the right mindset to experience God, but that is kind of the whole point. Shouldn’t our daily lives be lived with the motive to serve God in EVERY way possible? What hinders us? Pride? Selfishness? Or just laziness? I feel like I’m echoing my wife’s recent posts here, but I think that it is worth repeating. I want my life to reflect the truth that I believe in. This has been a short post, but its getting late and  I’m tired. Until next time!
