100 Days of Elijah: Day 2

Day 2

We are stuck at home and not headed to church because we decided to bring a Montana winter to Oregon. The snow keeps coming and the drive down the Gorge to Hood River is icy. We laugh at ourselves coming from Montana and driving in this stuff all the time. Now, we are less tempted to get out on the highways because even less people know how to drive in this stuff. Lets also be honest, the ice here is way worse than Bozeman. When we lived there, it’s not like we hit up the highway a lot. We stayed in town. Now, a lot of our life is a thirty minute drive away. We are just a week into the new year and the temperature have been the coldest since the 80’s and the snow storms have been the most and worst since then too. We were looking forward to a temperate winter and what we have had is a good old Montana winter. We have even had some of the cold temperatures. The average here in January is 32 degrees. This last week it hovered between 5 to 20.  One morning I woke up and it was 1 degree out. Bozeman was at 5 degrees. Ha! We got colder.

This brings me to Elijah. This little guy hasn’t been much of a playing in the snow fan yet, but he sure does love to look out the window at the snow flying. Today we stayed in our pj’s put the kiddo in his comfy thermal snowflake outfit. We will enjoy the cozy house.
