On Saturday, Brent and I had some friends over to celebrate his birthday. I decided to try and make two cakes. I spent a few hours bumming around the kitchen using dish after dish. Good thing Brent stayed on top of dish duty! My first cake was Dulce de Leche. It was a white cake with 3 layers of this caramel like substance that I also made from scratch. It had a super light frosting that was not full of sugar. The combo tasted amazing, but it was a very sweet cake. The second cake was a lemon cake with black tea frosting. This was my favorite. The combination of the lemon and black tea was perfect.
