Last week, Brent and both got an exciting email from the Portland Marathon. It is finally official that we finished the marathon and now we have the certificates to prove it! Just in case anyone was wondering if we really did complete our 26.2 mile jaunt back in October.
I do not know if you remember my time, but I came across the line at 4:11:41. They took off some time due to the two train crossings I got stopped at. I am going to go with getting done at 4:11:41. I know that I could have done it better, but I will just have to prove that to myself the next time I cross the line. At least if everything goes well between now and Nashville.
It is also official that I came in before Brent!! He told me that I can keep the marathon record. He is not sure if he will ever try one again, but he does have to goal of beating my half marathon time. (Since, I do have the record for that in this Powell house as well right now!) I have no doubts that he can do better. I look forward to him getting out there and running his best. I cannot wait to see what that ends up being.
