Support Letter

The time is getting closer for Brent and I to go over to the Philippines. It is approaching much faster than we had anticipated. With this, we are finding that the next two months are going to be filled with meetings to get to know our team, fundraisers, finding support financially and prayerfully, and preparing our hearts to go out and serve the Lord.

We will be flying into Manilla, Philippines March 10th and leaving on March 19th. From Manilla, we will make our way to Rehoboth Children’s Home where we will spend the rest of our trip building a medical center. Although building the medical center is the main focus of the trip, we will also be helping with anything that they need from doing dishes to helping with the children. We want to show God’s love to these people. Please visit the web sitewww.rehobothchildrenshome.com to learn more about the orphanage and what God is doing in this ministry.

As of this letter’s writing, Brent and I have reached 10% of the $4,000 needed to fund the trip. This doesn’t seem like much right now, but with only 2 months left, it is a sizable chunk of money. The Lord is teaching us that we need to trust in Him for this.  Brent is still searching for a job and we are trying to find ways to budget our money appropriately so we can use all we can of our own money. We would love to be able to support ourselves, but we are unable to do so at this time. We are praying for God to calm our fears.

Please be praying for our relationship with the Lord throughout this time. We need to build a tight team before we head over there. We ask that you pray for our team to push beyond personality differences and attain unity. Pray for us to have humble hearts and for God to prepare us for those that we meet here in Bozeman, our travels and in the Philippines. Pray that we are honoring Jesus and that we have the willingness to be stretched. We want to be a blessing to Rehoboth and to shower God’s love on them all. As well as those that we encounter in this whole process. Please be praying for us to take the opportunities that God provides to talk about Him.

Thank you for all your support and prayers. Please continue to pray for us in these areas throughout the next couple of months. If you would still like to support us financially, you can send a check directly to us or mail one to Sacred Portion Children’s Outreach, 7104 Bristol Lane, Bozeman, MT 59715 with a note providing our names attached. You can make also a donation online by going to www.sacredportion.org and clicking on the Donate: Montana Short Term Mission Group link in the left-hand navigation column. Then you will be able to select Brent Powell or Jessica Powell and donate using your debit or credit card.

Once again, thank you for all your prayers and continued support. We look forward to sharing more with you in the next few weeks and months to come. Check out thepowell.com for upcoming blogs, photos, videos, and more!

God Bless,

Brent and Jessica Powell
